Come Home with Samantha Martin
Oct 23, 2012
If you prefer your live music only a few meters away in quaint settings like a local bookstore, on Wednesday, October 24, you should be at The Rabbit Hole to see Toronto rocker Samantha Martin.
Martin will be playing The Rabbit Hole as part of the Home Routes concert series in which various musicians are touring the country and putting on shows in intimate venues. Professional musicians who are all regulars on CKUA radio have been doing a loop of northern B.C. and Alberta since September and the series will continue until April. The series started in Prince George, is passing through Grande Prairie, and ending in Kitimat.
The concept behind the concert allows musicians to connect with music lovers without having to have sold-out large venues. For Home Routes, every circuit tour strives to create a balance of styles, and can include anything from blues to bluegrass to country to various world musicians.
An exemplary vocalist, Samantha Martin combines hard-driving country and grassy blues with sweetness in her whiskey-soaked voice.
