And the Winner Is...?

Nov 16, 2012

Peace Country Idol Grande Prairie Residents of the Peace Country will see their 2012 idol crowned this Saturday, November 17, at the finale of Peace Country Idol at the Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre. This is the 10th anniversary for the local talent showcase run by the GPRC business marketing class, and with no signs of slowing down, this is one show we should see for years to come.

This competition really encourages participation from the entire Peace Region. Peace Country Idol is open to vocalists aged eight and up; each performer chooses their own song and 16 people in total perform on finale night. Auditions and semi-finals were held at both the Grande Prairie and Fairview GPRC campuses.

Beyond the monetary reward, this show is a wonderful way for local talent to get their share their voices and have a presence in the community. As finalists from previous years return, each year gets better and more engaging for not only the performers, but the fans as well.

Another exciting component for the anniversary will be guest judge Tenille Nadkrynechny along with a panel of local music industry leaders and professionals.

Peace Country Idol is a sell-out performance each year and worth every penny.
