Footing into the New Year

Dec 31, 2012

First Footings, Muskoseepi Park - Grande Prairie There is nothing better than ringing in the New Year with family togetherness on a brisk night, to celebrate the arrival of 2013.

We Go North strongly recommends checking out the First Footings New Years Eve Celebration, a long-standing tradition for most families in the Peace Region. This event sees Muskoseepi Park hosting a variety of activities and capping the night under a sky ablaze with fireworks.

The evening will feature a horse-drawn sleigh rides accompanied with creamy hot chocolate. If that isn't fantastic enough, the park is open for frosty exploration which may include snowman building, tobogganing, or even some snowshoeing with borrowed equipment from the park.

Although the temperature calls for a few extra layers, this weather makes for perfect skating conditions, guests are welcome to take a twirl underneath the lights.

There will also be plenty of children’s activities, including face painting, crafts and clowns.

The celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. and will continue to 10 p.m. when the fireworks start.
