Firefighters’ Ball to Raise Money For Burn Fund
Apr 19, 2013
This year the fifth Annual Fort St. John Professional Fire Fighters’ Charity Ball is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 20th at the Pomeroy Hotel.
The event will kick off at 5.00 pm with cocktails to be followed by silent and live auctions featuring jewelry, autographed hockey memorabilia and plenty more.
Dinner will be served at 7 pm, after which the Ball proper will get under way.
Tickets for the Fire Fighter's Charity Ball event are available at the Fire Department and at Marc Joseph Trend’s clothing.
Proceeds from the Ball will be donated to the B.C. Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Foundation which is a registered charity set up by the BC Professional Fire Fighter’s Association in 1978.
The Fund is dedicated to burn prevention as well as life support and recovery programs in British Columbia through purchase of equipment, training and medical staff. It is also used to finance and operate a children’s burn survivor camp which has hosted as many as four hundred children from various areas of the province.
FSJ firefighters also support many local and provincial community events such as BBQs, car washes and pancake breakfasts.
