A Day of Remembrance

Rememberance Day GPRemembrance Day is a time to reflect and honor those lost to war and those who now serve.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be holding their annual ceremony in Grande Prairie at the Crystal Centre this Monday. The observances start at the Canada Games Arena, followed by activities during the afternoon at the Legion.

Doors at the arena open at 9:45 am and 'O Canada' will be sung at 10:56 am followed by a moment of silence at 11 am along with a wreath ceremony and prayer.

Activities will then shift to the Legion branch at 12:30 pm for lunch followed by the "We Will Remember Them" bursary presentations and entertainment including the Grande Prairie Marching Band and Big Band Sound.

At 6pm, dinner will be served at the Legion for $20 per person with dancing and live music from Cottonwood to follow supper.
