A Fine Day for a Fair in High Prairie
Jun 22, 2012
Today, June 22, is the first day of the grand tribal gathering that is North Country Fair. An annual event, North Country Fair is noted to be the smallest of the major folk festivals in Alberta, still traditionally drawing an estimated crowd of 5,000 from Alberta and BC. NCF is usually held on the weekend closet to the summer solstice in a celebration of the warm days to come.
NCF features over 50 different performers from local to international talent including children’s legend Fred Penner. The vast selection of entertainment makes this modern-day Woodstock an appealing event for people of all ages.
Beyond the music North Country Fair boasts areas for different festival fare such as crafts, workshops, alternative health and cuisine.
North Country Fair has become a festival of community sharing and growth all of which continues to please concert goers.
