Musical Melting Pot at Grizfest
Aug 2, 2012
This weekend, hundreds of music lovers will flock to Tumbler Ridge for a blend of Canadian music at its best for Grizfest.
The festival, which is in its 12th year, is known for celebrating musical diversity be it rock, bluegrass, jazz, country, pop or classical – from traditional to experimental – in a beautiful mountain setting.
Grizfest is a family-friendly festival that focuses on community spirit and fun for everyone. Beyond the music of Grizfest there is an annual parade, children’s carnival, family BBQ, pancake breakfast, dance, beer garden, horseshoe and slo-pitch tournaments, and a sunrise golf tourney.
On the stage this year include musical accolades such as Fred Penner, My Darkest Days, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Emerson Drive, all of which have a very broad fan base.
Grizfest has become a major tourist attraction for music lovers across BC and Alberta. Organizers have worked hard to preserve the festival by booking a wide variety of performers that will fulfill the diverse tastes of the large crowd.
This one of the only festivals we can think of that adults can belt out “A Cat Came Back” with their kids and then rock out to hard rock of My Darkest Days.
